Gran Canaria - DAY 3

Day three was all about hiking! We explored Artenara and wakled around Acusa Caves.









After that we visited Ethnographic Museum of the Houses Caves and the Interpretation centre of the Fallen Cliff.







And the sun finally! While having lunch at La Cilla's restaurant in Artenara.

Gran Canaria - DAY 2

Host teachers and students prepared exhibitions of traditional games and differet methodologies they use in classrooms.
Traditional games exhibition: Canary fight, Canary ball, Billarda, Tangana and Throw and dodge, Lucha canaria (Canary fight). 











Exhibition of different methodologies:
- CLIL (3rd grade – Sol).
- Cooperative work (1st grade – Nauzet).
- English (5th & 6th grades – Susi).
- Equality (4 years old – Natalia)


After lunch there was a tour around the Valsequillo - Town Council, meeting with the authorities, the Colmenar, Saint Miguel church and Sun street.









At the end of the day teachers had very interesting CLIL workshop with teacher Angie.

Gran Canaria - DAY 1


The host school has changed its name and now proudly bears the name CEIP Elvira Vaquero, by their prematurely deceased headmistress whose work and dedication have left a deep impression and indelible mark in Valsequillo education and culture which is visible today. 
Project partners had the honour of witnessing the announcing the  new name of the school ceremony which was coordinated by headmistress Maria Dolores Gonzales Vega.
After welcoming ceremony, teachers had activity Guest teachers teach host pupils, while students had workshop on traditional Canarian song.







The next activity was related to traditional games. Partner presented  Traditional games from their countries.

After lunch there was Canary cooking workshop We learned how to prepare Mojo picón and Pella de gofio.




There was coordinators' meeting, too! 💪😊


Gran Canaria - LTTA for teachers and pupils


CEIP Elvira Vaquero is the host of the fourth project meeting.
Thirteen teachers, representatives of Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Greece and Cyprus and ten pupils from Portugal, Italy and Croatia have arrived to Valsequillo de Gran Canaria, Spain to learn about Canarian culture and tradition, to learn about CLIL, to make new friends and have fun.
