Croatia - DAY 3

Day three was reserved for a day trip to Hrvatsko Zagorje region.

STARO SELO (THE OLD VILLAGE) KUMROVEC MUSEUM 
Staro Selo ( The Old Village) Museum in Kumrovec is the biggest open-space in situ ethnographic museum in the Republic of Croatia, including 30 or so traditional housing and farm facilities from the late 19th and early 20th century. At the entrance to the Museum stands the farm of the Broz cooperative family, which includes the birth house of Josip

Broz Tito and historic and ethnographic exhibits.
We had guided tour through museum and a presentation of manufacture of traditional wooden toys in Hrvatsko Zagorje which are on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Also we played traditional games with bags, beans, horseshoe and bows and arrows! Fun! 👌💪😊

KRAPINA NEANDERTHAL MUSEUM 
The museum is located at Hušnjakovo, the site where fossilized Neanderthal remains dating back 130 000 years were found. This is the most numerous and most varied collection of such fossils in the world. The remains of dozens of people were found, together with those of animals such as the cave bear, wolf and rhinoceros as well as Palaeolithic stone implements. After enjoying the interactive museum displays, you can walk outside and see

the site of the dig.

Croatia - DAY 2

''Our Heritage is Our Tresure'' team visited Međimurska priroda (Nature of Međimurje) institution in Križovec. The institution is responsible for protecting, maintaining and promoting the protected area in the Medjimurje County with the aim to protect and preserve authentic environment, as well as to ensure natural processes proceed undisturbed and to enable sustainable use of natural resources.

Mura-Drava Regional Park
We also explored the beauty of Mura-Drava Regional Park with ecological features of international and national importance and enjoyed the nature. Mura-Drava Regional Park is special in many ways. It extends through five Croatian counties, following the border of the Mura and Drava Rivers, and it is part of one of the most important European river ecosystems: the floodplain of the Drava, Mura and Danube Rivers. Thus it is also a part of UNESCO’s biggest planned future unique river transboundary biosphere reserve in Europe, which will run through several countries.

Mill on the Mura

The river Mura turns the impressive wooden waterwheel near a small village called Žabnik, at the northernmost point of Croatia. It represents a unique example of traditional architectural heritage in Croatia and beyond. Visitors can also enjoy the river ferry - a vessel that moves like perpetuum mobile and takes people and vehicles from one river bank to another, but without engine, sails or paddles.

After lunch at the Terbotz restaurant in Štrigova, teachers participated in photography workshop held by teacher Davor Žerjav while pupils worked on illustrating ''Protuletje se otpira'' song.

Croatia - DAY 1

The meeting has started with the WELCOMING CEREMONY prepared by pupils and teachers of Primary School Strahoninec.
Teachers Aleksandar, Mario and Dijana do an excellent job with their pupils, teaching them how to sing, play and recite.
Teacher Davor greeted and welcomed us and teacher Tamara explained our schedule for the first day. 

Ice breaking and introduction games were very interesting and fun! We've learned each other names and found out what we have in common while playing GET TO KNOW YOU BINGO.

Kahoot Quiz about all partners countries was very educational and competitive!

Guest teachers have taught Croatian pupils words in their languages, told them stories, showed them videos and photos of their places and countries... 

''We want more classes like that!, Croatian pupils said.

There was eTwinning workshop for teachers while pupils learned how to sing the song PROTULETJE SE OTPIRA.

The day finished with the INTERNATIONAL DINNER during which teachers, pupils, parents and representatives of the local community could meet and talk to each other while tasting wonderful food.

Croatia - LTTA for teachers and pupils

The second project meeting has started today.
Thirteen teachers, representatives of Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus and eleven pupils from Spain, Italy and Portugal have arrived to Strahoninec and Čakovec, Croatia to learn about Croatian culture and tradition, to learn about WEB 2.0 tools, to make new friends and have fun.
